The Fort Riley NAF CPAC is located in building 319 on the Main Post of Fort Riley, just inside the Henry (Marshall Air Field) Gate off I-70. Fort Riley is located just outside of the Junction City, KS city limits and less than 15 miles from the home of Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS.
This position may be filled at the NF-02 or NF-03 levels.

NF-0203-02, HR Assistant (Developmental)
This is an entry level trainee position leading to the full performance level as described in PD AM044 for Human Resources Assistant (NAF), NF-0203-03 position. Assignments are selected to ensure the development of skills and abilities needed to perform the target level duties. Completes a prescribed agenda of formal/informal classroom and on-the-job training and self-development as set forth in the Individual Training Development Plan.
This position will have the primary duties of customer service at the NAF CPAC Front Desk, as well as submission and tracking of required pre-employment background investigations. Prepares and sends official correspondence regarding payroll, benefits elections, and personnel actions.
The employee works under closer than normal supervision wherein work is closely reviewed and detailed guidance provided as needed. As employee progresses, supervisory control diminishes until full performance level is accomplished. At management's request, the incumbent may be non-competitively promoted no earlier then 6 months or longer the one year of satisfactory performance provided the target position guide is classifiable to its present title, pay plan, series, and pay level at the time the incumbent has completed the required training, meets all regulatory and qualification requirements; and is performing the full scope of the major duties under the proper level of supervision.
NF-0203-03, HR Assistant
Processes a wide variety of routine and complex personnel actions requiring an in-depth knowledge of NAF civilian personnel rules and regulations. Provides advice and assistance to lower level employees on the preparation and processing of documents related to pay, compensation, benefits training, permanent change of station moves and/or other aspects of NAF employment. Writes and posts job announcements using a web based applicant tracking program. Grades applicant resumes for distribution of certificate lists to mangement. Makes job offers and ensures completion of all required pre-employment and employment checks are completed. In-processes and out-processes employees, conducts new employee orientations and benefits briefings. Ensures the maintenance of the automated personnel database. Establishes and maintains official folders, files and reports.
NF-02: Six months progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties described above to include performing office automation functions. Ability to communicate orally and deal effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
NF-03: Six months progressively responsible work experience in at least two of the major human resources/personnel functions such as; Recruitment and Placement, Benefits, Labor Relations, Management and Employee Relations, Employee Development, Training etc. Ability to communicate orally and deal effectively with people of diverse backgrounds. Ability to type and perform office automation functions.
_Conditions of Employment:_
1. A one-year probationary period may be required.

5. A completed and signed copy DA Form 3433-1 is required prior to entrance on duty.
