About the Position:
The Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP) is a mission critical program making a difference in the lives of returning soldiers and their family members. We need professionals to provide assessment and counseling in the treatment of substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Together, we can make a difference.
An Independent license is preferred.
Selectees will be required to submit a complete credentialing packet within 10 days of job offer. Instructions will be provided by the local credentialing office.
Fort Riley is located 120 miles west of Kansas City between Junction City (town of approximately 17,000) and Manhattan (college town of 45,000 residents). The local area has two large freshwater lakes for fishing, swimming, boating or camping. There are many other opportunities, Big XII Kansas State Wildcats football; Milford Lake Wetlands; hiking on the Konza Prairies; or golf at a nationally ranked course. As a Social Worker, you will perform the following duties:
Conduct bio-psychosocial evaluations and analyze data in making clinical assessments of patients who suffer from substance abuse.
Integrate information in a clear and concise manner to formulate accurate diagnostic impressions consistent with established criteria and standards.
Provide strategic interventions and relapse prevention counseling, and modify treatment plans to meet the changing needs of the client.
Provide individual, group and family psychotherapy.
Serve as the primary case manager, and perform qualitative and quantitative analyses of pertinent data for evaluation of patient progress.
Develop and implement orientation, and formal and informal training for patients, medical staff, and key unit personnel.
Ensure that all requirements for licensure and certification are maintained.

Degree: Successful completion of at least a Master's degree in Social Work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
Experience required: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: conducting complex psychological treatment and consultation services to alcohol and drug dependent clients who suffer from co-occurring or unusual disorders while in initial treatment, and formulating treatment plans.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Licensure/Certification: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted social worker license at the Masters level, or higher from a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required.
Licensure/Certification: This position requires applicants to possess a current, professional, unrestricted substance abuse certificate acquired from a State or nationally accredited certifying body.

This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Tentatively selected applicants will be required to sign DA Form 5019 requiring participation in random drug urinalysis testing. All Health Care Providers must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) Training and certification that is sponsored or endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA). Current Advanced Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede BLS completion.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
