31 an hour Position Description:
This position serves as the first point of contact for those entering the Fort Riley office; assisting students or potential students with information about the programs/degrees we offer as well as general information about the college and classes.
This position assists with Admissions and Enrollment Service responsibilities including, but not limited to assisting with admission applications, student enrollments and transcripts; working with and navigating between multiple operating systems to assist students and staff; working with Fort Riley and Fort Leavenworth staff on assignments as well as answering the phone and email and other traditional office duties.

00% - Customer Service:
assist office traffic, answer phone calls and emails, and assisting students in making payment; build internal relationships; share information with campus personnel.
Scheduling advising appointments and directing students to other departments within Barton.
Assist the Lead Student Services Specialist with answering questions received via social media as well as creating social media posts when needed; keep a clean workspace and help maintain a clean/presentable front office.

00% - Assist in daily operations of Military Student Services Office:
processing official transcript requests and admissions applications through Salesforce; assisting students with navigating MyBarton Portal to include resetting passwords and enrolling/dropping through self-service and navigating canvas; enter transcript credit (military and college) into Banner; assist service members with Tuition Assistance (TA) and Joint Service Transcript (JST) requests; deactivate student files and overall Student Service responsibilities.
This position will also assist with BSEP enrollments when needed.

00% - LSEC and CP Program Operations:
assisting the Director of Military Student Services with cycle preparation, to include, but not limited to preparing schedules; checking weekly reports in coordination with the other Student Service Specialists; preparing books and tracking inventory for upcoming cycles; and contacting students regarding textbooks, attribute checks, and enrollments.

Expectations:
Provide prompt customer service to all internal and external customers of Barton CC - Fort Riley.
Process data entry work in a timely manner.
Assist or execute and expected or assigned office work.
Demonstrate initiative, practice good organization and time management, and understand the confidential nature of personal student information and know when you can and cannot share it (FERPA).
Demonstrate commitment to the highest ethical standards of professional practice, as well as personal and professional integrity.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Education - A high school education or GED.
Other Skills - Associates in Business Technology or related field preferred.
Ability to interact professionally and effectively with students, faculty, and staff; ability to work with students of diverse age and background; ability to operate independently/multitask; and experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred.
Experience - Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
Interpersonal Skills - Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job.
Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the college for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
Physical Requirements:
Job may require lifting light weight objects (1 to 10 pounds) with no repetitive bending or stooping.
Occasionally lift average weight objects (1 to 10 pounds).
Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office or classroom.
Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment such as masks, coats, gowns, boots, goggles, gloves, or shields.
Wages/Other:
The hourly rate for this position is $16.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
